What we buy

From a 1st Edition Charizard to a 1952 Mantle

Pokémon moves fastest right now and we buy it deep — singles, graded slabs, and sealed booster boxes, ETBs and cases. We have been buying sports just as seriously since 1974: tobacco-era issues, vintage Topps and Bowman, modern rookies and parallels. Comics, currency and whatever else came out of the same closet get the same attention. Bring any of it and a specialist will sort, identify and value it in front of you.

  • Pokémon & TCG

Base Set through current releases — singles, graded slabs, and sealed booster boxes, ETBs and cases. Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh and other TCGs too.

  • Sports Cards

Baseball, basketball, football and hockey. Vintage tobacco issues through modern rookies and parallels.

  • Comic Books

Golden, Silver and Bronze Age keys, full runs, and CGC-slabbed books.

  • Graded Cards

PSA, BGS, CGC and TAG slabs. We buy population-report rarities and common grades alike.

  • Vintage & Pre-1980

T206, Goudey, Topps and Bowman. Condition matters most here — bring it in before you clean anything.

  • Entire Collections

Inherited boxes, storage units, shop inventory. We travel for significant collections.

Not sure whether what you have is worth anything? That is exactly the question we answer for free. Plenty of people walk in expecting nothing and leave with a check — and plenty learn their cards are common. Either way you get a straight answer and you owe us nothing.

How it works

Three Steps, and You Can Stop at Any of Them

Nothing is binding until you say yes. If our number is not what you hoped, take your cards home — no fee, no hard feelings.

  1. STEP ONE

    Tell us what you have

Fill out the form, send a few photos, or just call. A specialist will tell you whether it is worth bringing in and what to bring.

  2. STEP TWO

    We evaluate it, free

Walk into our Garden City showroom and we go through it with you at the counter. You see what we see, and we explain how we get to the number.

  3. STEP THREE

    Get paid the same day

Accept the offer and you leave with cash or a check that day. Decline it and you leave with your collection. That simple.

Why sell to a dealer

What It Actually Costs to Sell Cards Yourself

Selling online can work, and for some cards it is the right move — we will tell you when it is. But most people underestimate what comes out of the final sale price.

Selling to Eastern Numismatics

  • Paid the same day, in full
  • No listing fees, final value fees or shipping costs
  • One transaction instead of two hundred listings
  • No chargebacks, returns or "item not as described" claims
  • Specialists catch the valuable card you did not know you had

Selling it yourself online

  • Platform and payment fees come off every sale
  • Photographing and listing each card takes months
  • Grading submissions cost money and take time up front
  • You absorb shipping damage and buyer disputes
  • Common cards often never sell at all
Done in a private office, one on one

Family operated since 1974

Fifty Years of Buying Collections, One Counter at a Time

Eastern Numismatics has been family-run since 1974. The same family still sets the offers and still works the counter — which is why people who sold us a collection in the eighties send their children in today. Nobody here works on commission.

Common questions

Before You Come In

Does it cost anything to get an evaluation?

No. Evaluations are free with no obligation to sell. If you do not like the offer, you keep your cards and owe nothing.

Do I need an appointment?

Not for small lots — walk in during business hours. If you are bringing an entire collection or several boxes, call ahead so we can set aside a specialist and a private table for you.

Should I get my cards graded first?

Usually not. Grading costs money and takes months, and for most cards it will not raise the value enough to cover the submission. Bring them raw and we will tell you honestly which ones, if any, are worth submitting.

How do you decide what to offer?

Recent sold comparables, condition, scarcity, and current demand for that player, set or character. We show you the reasoning rather than just handing you a number.

How do I get paid?

Cash or check, same day, whichever you prefer. Larger collections can be paid by wire if that is easier.

I inherited a collection and know nothing about cards. Can you help?

That is a large part of what we do. Executors and families are welcome, we can walk through an entire estate, and we are happy to coordinate with your attorney if the estate requires documentation.

Do you buy anything besides cards?

Yes — coins, currency, gold and silver bullion, jewelry, diamonds, watches and other collectibles. If it turned up in the same closet, bring it along.
